We offer our heartfelt sympathy for those afflicted by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Since the earthquake, many words of encouragement for the people in the affected areas have been offered, mostly online, by members of the public in all parts of Japan and all over the world. They still continue to be posted today. In the most seriously affected areas, however, many people still are unable to read those words and, meanwhile, the messages themselves are beginning to disappear from cyberspace.
To deliver these messages to those affected by the tragedy, we have decided to reprint them in newspapers. Hakuhodo has invited cooperating companies to join us in carrying those messages as advertisements in Iwate Nippo, Kahoku Shimpo, Fukushima Mimpo and Fukushima Minyu. We have now established a secretariat for this project within our office.
We will insert in the above-mentioned dailies those messages posted on Twitter, blogs and other sites, whose authors have given us consent.
