The Hakuho Foundation believes that research into the Japanese language and Japanese language instruction conducted abroad not only deepens international understanding of Japan and the Japanese language, but also offers valuable insights for similar research conducted in Japan.
The Hakuho Japanese Language Research Fellowship Program invites leading international researchers of the Japanese language and Japanese language instruction to conduct residential research in Japan, with the goal of further deepening and practicalizing such research and enhancing its fundamentals in Japan and overseas.
- ● Invitees will conduct their research through research partnerships and exchanges of information with other researchers, using the facilities and equipment of their receiving organization.
- ● If necessary for research purposes, invitees may interact with researchers other than those at their receiving organization.
- 1. Obtain the application guidelines, official application form and recommendation form.

- 3. Fill out the recommendation form (by the recommender)
- 4. Prepare Japanese translation of the recommendation (in the case of letters written in languages other than Japanese)
- 5. Mail the completed application and recommendation forms.
