Since our founding in 1970, Hakuho Foundation has been helping those
at the frontlines of education contribute to the healthy growth of
children—tomorrow's leaders.

We believe that what young children look at, listen to and feel in
their formative years can expand their potential immensely.
This is why the nurturing they receive in the elementary and
middle school years is so significant.

Most critical of all, is language education. Language is essential
when encountering new knowledge, when trying to understand
new matters and concepts, when conveying one's feelings and
when taking in what others are thinking. Language is the
cornerstone of all growth.

Hakuho Foundation has expanded its activities in time with changes
in society, and now implements four major initiatives: the Hakuho Award
for outstanding educators and organizations, the Hakuho Research Grant
for Child Education, the Hakuho Japanese Language Research Fellowship
Program, and the Hakuho Scheme for a Global Children's Japanese Language
Network. We will continue to work hand in hand with educators, who stand before
children every day at the frontlines of education, to pursue and jointly create
better child education methods.
